With the construction of the exterior shells for the meditation hall and the adjoining buildings near completion, the redevelopment of the Vihara has entered a critical phase … the roofing of the Grand Dharma Hall!

Roof work will begin with the installation of fiberglass insulation, heat tracings, and waterproof membranes, all in preparation for the laying of the “yuan” roof tiles.

The yuan roof tiles are special, eco-friendly, green roofing products. They are made from recycled plastics and composite materials, are sustainable and very durable. The laying of the tiles is to protect the grand dharma hall, just as our wholesome actions of studying and practicing the Buddha’s teachings, keeping the precepts and practicing meditation all serve to protect our minds.

We hope you will practice virtuous giving and sponsor our roof tiles by donation.  A wholesome wish will be written onto each sponsored tile. Our goal is to cover the entire roof with wholesome wishes - to support Po Lam’s challenging undertaking of building a vihara, to accommodate the sangha and to propagate the Dharma in the West for generations to come.
